Extensibility with the RokDoc External Interface

The External Interface Plug-In allows you to:

  • Run your proprietary alogorithms within the RokDoc environment
  • Accept C, C++ or Matlab code
  • Define algorithms for any function
  • Expand the breadth of stand alone tools
  • Each algorithm takes the form of a plug-in function
  • Callbacks such as 'logger' and 'progress' enable plug-ins to integrate even better with RokDoc

The style of the interface is consistent with the RPM user interface.

RokDoc has three categories of plug-in:

1.  RokDoc-1D plug-ins operate on well log data
2.  RokDoc-2D plug-ins operate on 2D seismic/synthetic quantities
3.  Rock Physics Model (RPM) plug-ins

The Anatomy of a Plug-in

Plug-in functions are built into a dynamically linked library.

Description files describe each plug-in function’s capabilities to RokDoc.

RokDoc searches for description files at start-up and makes the plug-ins available as appropriate.
